Photo Usage
Photography is more than decoration it's a vital part of how we tell stories and connect emotionally with our audience. The right image can express our values, guide interpretation, and strengthen trust in our brand. That's why we ask everyone to follow a few simple principles when selecting or using photography across Giunti Psychometrics materials.
Correct Cropping
Images should always feel intentional and balanced. When cropping, make sure the subject remains centered or compositionally strong avoid cutting off key elements like heads, hands, or text. Keep enough breathing room around people and objects to preserve clarity and emotional impact.
Use of overlays
Overlays can help increase readability when placing text over images but they must be subtle and intentional. Use dark or light transparent overlays from our approved palette only when necessary and make sure they don’t overpower the photo. The goal is to support legibility while respecting the emotional tone of the image. Don’t mute the photo, enhance its message.
Black & White vs Color
Color is the standard for most brand photography, as it communicates emotion, realism, and human connection. However, black & white imagery has a specific place in our visual system.
We use black & white photography exclusively for individual team portraits such as in the corporate website or the e-commerce sales team section. This choice helps create a unified, timeless look without distracting from the person’s expression or identity.
Avoid using black & white for editorial or lifestyle imagery. Outside of team portraits, color should always be prioritized to maintain warmth and consistency across our brand.
When in doubt, keep it simple
Strong photography is not just about the subject it’s also about how the subject is framed. Thoughtful composition helps guide the viewer’s eye and creates balance in the image.
Use the rule of thirds, clean backgrounds, and allow for breathing room when possible. Avoid visual clutter or overly staged environments. Aim for authenticity, clarity, and a sense of purpose in every shot.
Visual Tone & Mood
The emotional quality of an image matters just as much as its technical execution. Our photography should convey a tone that aligns with Giunti Psychometrics’ values: human, thoughtful, empowering, and science-driven.
Avoid exaggerated expressions, artificial lighting, or heavily filtered aesthetics. Instead, aim for natural light, honest emotion, and a sense of authenticity. Subjects should feel real and relatable not posed or overly polished.
